FIFA has introduced a new format for the Club World Cup, expanding the number of teams to 32 starting in 2025. Teams from six federations will compete, with notable inclusions such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Monterrey, Seattle Sounders, and Al-Hilal. Leon has been disqualified, with a replacement expected.

The 2025 Club World Cup follows a structure similar to the UEFA Champions League, with 32 teams divided into eight groups of four. After group stages, the top two teams from each group progress to the knockout rounds, leading to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. Extra time and penalties decide drawn matches. Europe has the most clubs, followed by CONMEBOL, with four teams each from other continents.

With the expanded format of the 2025 Club World Cup, more Asian clubs will have the opportunity to compete and showcase their abilities. In the past, the short format limited opportunities for Asian teams. Now, four nations from Asia will challenge top global clubs, aiming to create upsets in the competition.
